Investor Profile & Personalization

How to customize Pierce with your investment style, risk tolerance, portfolio holdings, and system instructions.

Tailoring Pierce to Your Investment Philosophy

No two investors evaluate the market identically. A long-term value investor focusing on cash flows needs a vastly different analysis style than a momentum swing trader hunting for breakout patterns or an options trader modeling volatility spreads.

Pierce features a deep personalization engine that adapts every analysis, valuation, and research response to your specific investment profile, portfolio constraints, and formatting preferences.

Setting Up Your Investor Profile

You can configure your profile settings directly inside the Pierce application under Settings → Investor Profile.

1. Primary Investment Style

Select the strategy framework that best describes your approach:

  • Value / Quality Compounder: Prioritizes intrinsic value, cash flow durability, economic moats, and margin of safety.
  • Growth & Momentum: Focuses on quarterly EPS acceleration, CANSLIM criteria, relative strength leaders, and volume breakouts.
  • Systematic & Quantitative: Prefers statistical backtesting, expectancy metrics, volatility modeling, and systematic risk management.
  • Options & Derivatives: Evaluates Black-Scholes pricing, Greek risk exposures, implied volatility skew, and defined-risk options structures.

2. Risk Tolerance & Constraints

Define your risk parameters so Pierce can automatically tailor its position sizing and risk warnings:

  • Risk Level: Conservative, Moderate, or Aggressive.
  • Max Drawdown Limit: Instructs Pierce's Risk Management tools to flag strategies that breach your maximum acceptable drawdown threshold (e.g., 15%).
  • Position Sizing Caps: Sets maximum capital allocation percentages per individual ticker or sector.

3. Personal Portfolio Integration

Input your current portfolio holdings or watchlist tickers into your profile. When you ask Pierce open-ended questions like "How does current market breadth affect my portfolio?", Pierce cross-references live market breadth internals with your exact holdings to provide tailored risk assessments.

Custom System Instructions

Pierce allows you to append Custom Instructions to your agent profile. These instructions act as persistent guidelines for all future research sessions:

  • "Always format financial comparisons in markdown tables."
  • "Include bear-case scenario probabilities for every valuation."
  • "Warn me if a stock's earnings date is within 14 days."
  • "Highlight ESG risks alongside fundamental metrics."
